It had been a while since my wife and I visited the sports bar Jordans 23 at Mohegan Sun. Our mission - our old favorite - the Black & Blue Burger, including cajun seasoning, blue cheese,lettuce, tomato & tobacco onions. This meal isn't complete without the sweet potato fries.
I have to report that it was not the same great burger - IT WAS EVEN BETTER!
The burger seemed leaner, bigger and the additional cajun seasoning gave a little kick that was not too hot, but just right. Even the sweet potato fries were tastier. Coupled with a Shipyard Pumkinhead beer on tap, this meal was truly outstanding comfort food.
And what about the place as a whole. Well it wasn't "some-show-in-the-arena" night, but Jordans seemed to be doing well as compared to the other restaurants we passed. And our service was terrific - I hope you get David. He was attentive and busy all the time. Did not hover, but visited our table enough that we knew he was taking care of us. Good job!
There is also Trivia that plays throughout that you use your iPhone or Android app to play against other players across the country. Nice addition.
The BVR (Binbin Value Rating) certainly can't add up to a royal flush for a sports bar. But I'd give them a Straight-flush, with their service putting giving them an edge over the usual casual dining full house ranking. This place is definitely a Binbin favorite.
Oh, and during the summer, try their lobster sandwich - but make sure you're hungry! It's big & full of lobster.
