More Maine News and a Teaser of Future Blogs

While New England is getting hit by a blizzard, I can't help wonder what the New England Casinos will be like this weekend. No doubt, emptier than normal on the weekend. Ahh, yes...less people, more machines and tables available, less smoke, and all day to spend. Only problem is, with the snow, it's going to be one of those "can't get there from here" days. Oh well, lots of time to blog....so let the fun begin...

Oxford Expanding?
After yesterday's post about the positive feelings in and around Oxford, Maine about the new casino, there is more news about New England's newest casino.
The state Maine DEP has reissued a construction permit to the Oxford Casino.

The Sun Journal reports that the newly reviewed land use and construction permit was signed by DEP Commissioner Patricia Aho on Tuesday. Casino developers want to expand the gambling facility, and add parking, restaurants, a spa, a pool, a conference center, an RV Park and a skating rink.  Interesting that a hotel wasn't mentioned in the article - hopefully an over site.

What's on the Horizon?
Tomorrow, news concerning Mohegan Sun's interest into running the Philadelphia property abandoned by Foxwoods, as well as the Sun's other properties. This will be the beginning of a series looking into the 11 casino investors and their properties, rewards clubs, promotions, and facilities. Internet reviews, both pro and con, will be included for different perspectives and experiences. Of course, my own twisted experiences with them will be included. (Look out, MGM!)

That's all for now!
